My name is David, I am a German designer currently based in southern Germany, having studied, lived and worked in London for six years.

I like to design with a coherent logic but also to create sculptural forms that people can relate to emotionally. In seating furniture, the human body is the measure around which to design, and I have that in mind when a shape materialises with a few sketching lines.

After the first sketch I develop the design through 3D modelling. To test the ergonomics of a design through an ergonomic model, I build its form reduced to its relationship to the human body.

Before my Industrial Design studies, I did an apprenticeship in furniture making, thus I am familiar with craftsmanship and production techniques. In my industrial design work I developped a lounge armchair from first sketches through form finding to a first full-size prototype.
